There are products that do a job, and there are products that change the atmosphere of a room. This sake set is the second kind.
The Kakukinyo pot is square where you expect round, architectural where you expect rustic. Deep black ceramic with a glaze that breaks at the shoulder into layers of amber, cobalt blue, and soft white, pooling and dripping toward the base in a way that looks deliberate and accidental at the same time. The four cups mirror the pot exactly, the same glaze cascade compressed into a small vessel that sits comfortably in the hand.
Together they have the kind of visual coherence that only comes from a maker who understands that a set is not just a collection of matching pieces. It is a conversation between objects.
Use it for sake, obviously. But also for warm shochu, cold barley tea, or any occasion where the ritual of pouring and receiving feels worth honouring. At 420ml the pot holds enough for a proper round between four people without requiring a refill every five minutes.
Presented in a matte black gift box that matches the aesthetic of the set itself. This is the most giftable product in the Concept Japan range and it knows it.
Dishwasher and microwave safe. Designed and made in Japan. Pot: 6.4 x 6.4 x 17cm, 420ml. Cup: 4.4 x 5.2cm.
